Competitions Participated:

  1. Negotiations

  2. Client Interview

  3. Witness Examination

  4. Junior Moot (Grand Finalist)

As a first-year law student, I couldn’t wait to dip my toes into the world of competitions in law school! When the Tasmanian University Law Society (TULS) advertised their annual Internal Competitions, I knew I had to sign up for every single one. Working with a fellow first-year law student, we bravely took on the Negotiations and Client Interview competitions.

As an individual, I also participated in the TULS x Barry Nilsson Junior Moot, as well as the Witness Examinations Competitions. I was proud to emerge as a Grand-Finalist in the TULS x Barry Nilsson Junior Moot in my first year of law school! Through the Junior Moot, I had the privilege of being introduced to the force of nature that is Professor Anja Hilkemeijer, who honed my advocacy skills and whose lessons are an invaluable resource I take with me into anything that I do. Moreover, the experience allowed me to build rapport with my law school mates and was the perfect introduction to the world of advocacy.

A letter of recommendation from Ms Demi Peters, the judge of the Grand Final of the Junior Moot, is available. If this is required for an application, please reach out to me directly via imran.khan@utas.edu.au.
